PCB Action Suspended against Shahid Afridi...

The Sindh High Court on Tuesday suspended the proceedings of the Pakistan Cricket Board `s (PCB) disciplinary committee against former captain Shahid Ali Khan Afridi.
The bench was seized by the constitutional petition of the star cricketer who object to the issuance of a notice requiring him to appear before the disciplinary committee and the termination of his contract with the main PCB.
Mr Afridi, in his petition that he was involved in Hampshire County to play in a Twenty20 tournament in England. He said he applied for permission for the PCB that he was granted unconditional via e-mail on
May 18, 2011. He said he was appointed captain of the national team, but the PCB chairman announced his removal from captaincy by issuing a press statement. He said the way he was removed causing an irreparable loss of his reputation and also mentally upset him.

The star said it was disappointed he indicated his intention of retiring from cricket. But, he said, on May 31 he received a show-cause notice from the PCB that instead of waiting for his reply suspended his central contract and revoke the permission to play the Twenty20 tournament in the world. Then, he said, he was unable county cricket to play. He said he could not play a T20 match on June 1 and will be capable of coming games to play.

He said that Hampshire would be his involvement in the event he did not play for them ended. He also argued that Hampshire or any other province would be willing to star in the future engage. The star said that the consent once given is final and binding under section 2.3.1 of the main contract and there was no provision in the law under the contract for permission to be revoked.

While issuing notices to the respondents for June 9, the bank advises: "In the meantime proceedings for the alleged disciplinary committee suspended.
