The New York Times Report is a direct attack: Pakistani Army says

Islamabad: 
Military authorities on Saturday reacted sharply to reports in The New York Times, describing it as "baseless and mischievous." Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), and the Pakistan army's media arm, The New York Times that was published a series of "unconfirmed news reports" against the army and intelligence service.
"The Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas rejected the allegations made against the army and the ISI," the military wing spokesman, was quoted by media as telling a foreign news agencies in an interview

Saleem Shahzad murder: Pakistan says Mullen's statement 'irresponsible'

Islamabad. Pakistan on Friday condemned the remarks "highly irresponsible" by a senior U.S. military officer Admiral Mike Mullen, that elements of the Pakistani government has authorized the killing of Syed Saleem Shahzad May: 


"If it were true, the statement is a highly responsible," said a spokesman for the Pakistani government Mullen's remarks, in a statement quoted by official news agency APP. "We will not help in the investigation of the case."
The government says it has formed a judicial commission of inquiry into the death of Shah increased, and that no information should be shared "on the national or international level" with the Commission.
"If it was any other statement in this way, and will be considered an attempt to influence the follow-up committee," the spokesman said.

Pakistan government may have sanctioned Saleem Shehzad's death: Mullen

Washington: U.S. military official said the biggest Admiral Mike Mullen, said on Thursday that the Pakistani government has authorized the killing of Pakistani journalist, expressing deep concern over the attack. 

In response to a question about media reports that Islamabad sanctions or agreed to the killing of the journalist: "I have not seen anything that would be written this report."
He said he was concerned about the incident and suggested that other journalists have suffered a similar fate in the past.
"His (death) is not the first. For any reason, they were used historically as a means," said Mullen told reporters at the Pentagon event, the Press Association.
